The bigger and bigger rerouted co-op gets - the more and more I rely on emails and quick notes. It’s too easy to lose focus without the boundaries set by written speech. 

Recently, there was a poignant anecdote in one of my leadership books. I believe it was the CEO of General Motors. He wrote a short one, paragraph brief after every meeting. One takeaway, one action item. 

This appears to be an extremely effective example of leadership that serves to achieve three major points. 1) Proves that leadership listens. 2) Promotes action by setting a goal and deadline. 3) Creates a record that can be referred back to.
